Welcome Mataya!

Finally posting more pictures!

Well, we've made through our first week as parents! Mataya has been so much fun. She's eating well, sleeping well, cuddling well, gaining weight, having lots of hiccups... Her pediatrician was impressed today by how strong and healthy she is! Yay! She's already making us proud! ; )

I know I take lots of photos of her sleeping, but I can't resist! She is so adorable, especially when she wiggles her hands free from her swaddle and poses them under her chin.

Here she is with mommy, settling down for bed. Mommy gave me a hard time about the late night photoshoot, but it was totally worth it. Jen is recovering so well. She's already an amazing mom... so gentle and thoughtful and loving. It's been such a pleasure to watch her blossom into motherhood. I'm so proud of her. : )

Ah yes, bath time! Mataya is definitely not a fan of the whole idea. I'd say this is probably the only thing she likes less than being changed. She's very modest. Anything that involves taking off clothing potentially leads to a dramatic display of sadness and disapproval. As her father, I hope this trait sticks with her for a VERY long time. In this picture she's grabbing my finger and pressing it against her cheek for comfort. Sooooo cute!!!

Ahhhh, but after bath time... that's a whole different story. We're anticipating a good night's sleep tonight. We're not sure if the bath relaxes her or if the crying makes her tired. Either way is cool I guess. ; ) In this shot, daddy is drying her off and comforting her.

This is one of my favorite photos. You can see how wide-eyed she gets, especially when she needs to focus on something as important as burping. Mommy brushed her hair after her bath (which she loves) and put her in a nice clean outfit (onto which she immediately burped a mouthful of milk). She is literally the most adorable thing ever.

Time to get some sleep while I have the chance. She's been passed out for a couple of hours already, which means we may get 1 or 1.5 hours of sleep before we're up to feed and change her. More photos soon!
