35 WEEKS (almost 9 months)

Sorry I didn't really do an update last week. There hasn't been much going on other than trying to get things taken care of in our lives before Baby G is here. Ellerey's unfortunately been having to work around the clock for some huge deadlines but we're praying he can catch up on rest soon and resume a somewhat normal work pattern. I've just been continuing trying to check things off the baby to do list. We just got the rest of the stuff we needed before it's baby time and I'm organizing and putting away and finding room. It's getting harder to do a lot of things in these last weeks of the pregnancy. I get exhausted easily like in the 1st trimester, my feet swell up like Frankenstein if I don't keep them up, it's hard to breath sometimes because baby likes to get all up in my ribs, and of course, the heartburn is really fun. But I'm still dancing! I just have to take it easier and cut it shorter. I've been having some false labor contractions in addition to the Braxton Hicks contractions. The doctor says that's normal... I guess it's a good opportunity for me to practice. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm done being pregnant and just want the baby here. I'm sure that has a lot to do with still having a lot to do... hehehe does that make sense? All in all, I can't complain. I've had a good pregnancy and we're really excited that we'll get to meet the little one soon! We're definitely very blessed!

What changes are occurring with your body?
If you have been short of breath, it is due to your uterus being underneath your rib cage, causing you to have difficulty breathing. Towards the end of your pregnancy your baby drops, which is called lightening. The baby is beginning to settle deeper into your pelvis which relieves pressure on your diaphragm, so you are not so short of breath. Lightening can increase the pressure on your bladder, causing more trips to the bathroom.*

How big is your baby?
Your baby is continuing to grow and most likely measures between 15 ¾ to 18 inches long and weighs 5 ½ to 6 pounds.*

What is happening with your baby?
The vast majority of your baby's growth is complete by 35 weeks. His/her kidneys are completely developed, and the liver is beginning to process waste. Because your baby has grown so much, you will notice that he/she will no longer be performing an aerobic workout. There just is not enough room for somersaults. However, this does not mean you will not feel your baby move. His/her kickboxing routine should stay the same.

Jen, we are so proud of you. You look so happy and beautiful and joyful and loved. It is such a wonderful time and we know you are soaking in the warmth and joy of the most precious miracle we can experience (apart from our spiritual rebirth): preparing for and entering into parenthood. You and Ellerey are going to be such great and loving, touchy-feely parents - it's going to be the best! Non-stop hugging, we can just picture it! We pray the Lord's continued blessing up to and beyond Baby G's grand entrance. We love you! And Baby G., you're going to be so, so loved too!
