First official playtime!

I know I mentioned doing a second posting last weekend, but I totally ran out of time. The good news is, now we have much more to talk about!! For example, Mataya is now over three weeks old! According to mommy's loose calculations she weighs about 8.5 pounds now, which means she's eating well and getting a lot of sleep. The past couple of nights she's been sleeping for 5 hours straight before her middle of the night feeding. What a good baby!!

Here are some shots from her first time using her new play gym! We realized that there's only so much we can do at this point to keep her entertained during her awake time. The play gym is awesome. So much to look at and play with. In this picture she's just soaking it all in.

Here she is trying to figure out how to enjoy this experience. ; ) Her first session involved lots of arm flailing, as you can see from the motion blur on her right hand...

It also involved lots of smiling! She's still sorta figuring out how to do that too! So much to learn! ; )

The other night she had some fun interaction with mommy after diaper changing. Mommy took this photo herself while daddy was trying to get a little bit of work done.

Mommy also took this super cute photo. See, daddy's not the only one who harasses Mataya with a photo shoot while she's trying to sleep. ; ) I think this is the first photo we're posting where she's got a pacifier. She didn't like the pacifier at all in the first couple of weeks, but this week she seems to be getting into it. She's pretty active with her hands once she's out of her swaddle, so she usually ends up accidentally pulling it out of mouth. In this picture, it looks like she's trying to hold it in. Awww. ; )

I so want to hold that precious little one again and quietly sing to her - as soon as possible. I love her so much . . .
