5 months old! Mataya's First Christmas!

(posted by Mommy)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! We're so blessed to celebrate the holidays this year with the joy of our lives! Mataya is already 5 months old - wow! The newborn stage is far behind yet sometimes in my mind she still seems like that tiny little sleepy baby. She is much more fun to play with these days though. Her new favorite pastime is being tickled! She gets the biggest belly laughs! Mataya can also roll over both ways now. What a strong little girl!

If we have your address, you may have already seen some of these photos on our Christmas card. Isn't she the cutest Christmas baby? She didn't even mind the Santa hat.

Luckily we got some smiles out of her before naptime. It did take some foot kissing, silly dancing, and her monkey friend though!

She may look like a sweet sleepy baby here, but I'm pretty sure the days of her just falling asleep whenever are done.

Some of the best photos we got were after our official photo shoot when she was just watching Finding Nemo on my lap. She loves Nemo!

Grandma and Grandpa Gave were here for Christmas. Mataya loves all the special attention she gets from visitors!

Oh yes, Mataya is teething - oh boy! I keep checking every day for teeth but none just yet. That also means that everything belongs in Mataya's mouth. At least that's what she thinks!

Mmmm, the rainforest is tasty!

Here's Mataya and Mommy ready to go to church. She looks so cute in this dress that Daddy picked out for her.

Awww, doesn't seeing her smile make you smile too?

Notice the massive drop of drool. It doesn't stop her from smiling big though!

"No photos please!"

"Hmm, I wonder if I can get this in my mouth?"

Here's Mataya wishing she could smash mouth this bowl of chocolate while helping me make chocolate covered cinnamon graham crackers. mmmm! She sure is my daughter! hehehe

"Yes Mommy, those cookies look mighty yummy!"

Mataya's learning how to patty cake with Grandma here - yaaayyy!

Watch out for that drool! hehehe

Here's Mataya helping in the kitchen again. She's gonna be a great cook - just like Mommy : )

Grandma Gallo couldn't bear for her California grandbaby to not have a Christmas snowman so she sent some stuff for Mataya to build her own : )

Daddy got some great shots of Mataya in some of her Christmas gear with "pooh-ball"...

I really don't see the point in baby socks. I swear Mataya just looks at them and they fall off!

Here she is helping Mommy make chocolate cream pie. What a good little helper I have!

Mataya's great grandma Tomala got her a very pretty Christmas dress to wear to church on Christmas eve. She looks like a cute little baby doll!

And she was definitely the most beautiful Christmas baby - I checked... twice ; )

She was a good girl so she got to open 1 present before going to bed on Christmas eve.

It was a musical plush octopus that speaks colors in 3 languages from Mommy and Daddy. Exactly what she asked for! hehehe

We've appropriately nicknamed her Blue. Mataya and Blue are great friends now!

And of course Daddy was capturing the event on all forms of media! Thank you Daddy!

Here's Mataya opening a present from her Aunt Jessie on Christmas morning. It was a penguin that bounces back when you hit it. She loves to attack it - so funny!

And here's a teddy that will teach Mataya her ABC's and 123's from Grandma and Grandpa Gave. But right now she's just fascinated that it lights up!

Grandma Gallo got Mataya lots of pretty clothes - Mommy's favorite kind of gift for her!

Mataya loved all of her presents. So much so that she had to taste them too!

Look how adorable she is in her "Santa's little baby" outfit from Grandma Gallo - complete with rosy cheeks!

Mataya got to visit with her friend Sadie on Christmas. They look like sweet little candy canes!

Mataya loves to work on her abs by trying to do sit ups but here she is returning the favor while Mommy works on hers. Weeeee!

Believe it or not, it's actually quite chilly in California lately! This is Mataya ready to head to church in her pink heart cap from Grandpa Gallo and Jane. So cute!

Precious! Perfectly Precious! All 3 or you, especially Mataya, outdid yourselves with this posting.

The camera just loves that little girl! And she seems to have gotten used to it being in front of her much of the time.

Thanks to all of you for the time it takes you to do this. We really appreciate it - especially since we can steal photos from it for our new digital picture frame. Perfect!

We love you!
