10 Weeks: Sitting up, Puppy Pepper, and Uncle Jeromie

Mataya is such a sweetheart! She really enjoys playing now! It's so fun to watch her smile and make cute noises while she interacts with her environment. She loves watching her mobile in her crib, examining the colorful dots in the nursery, looking at herself in the mirror, swinging at toys in her gym, and especially staring at the funny monkey on her new bouncer. But most of all, she loves smiling and "talking" with mommy and daddy : )

In other great news... Mataya is now consistently sleeping around 8 hours straight a night! She goes to bed around 7:00 and only wakes me up once in the middle of the night to feed her. I hope she continues to excel in her nighttime schedule and stretches it out to where she sleeps completely through the night soon. How exciting that will be!

In addition to smiling, Mataya is now adding adorable smirks to the mix!

This is Mataya's new friend Pepper the puppy. She likes how soft Pepper feels against her skin!

Silly Mataya, puppies are supposed to be the ones doing the licking! I guess Pepper's been teaching her a few things, heheheh!

Awwww, here she is smiling at me while practicing sitting up on the couch... propped up with pillows of course : )

I don't know what Mataya thinks is so funny, but I like it!

And after the pillows are taken away, it's not long until she slowly begins her descent...

This is Mataya's first time in her Bumbo seat, where she can sit up all by herself and show off how well she can hold her head up! 

She must feel so accomplished! Her seat frees her up to concentrate on more important things, like being the most adorable little girl ever!

Look at those cute little feet! She loves to wiggle her toes all around. 

Uncle Jeromie and cousin Mark drove to California after finishing work in Arizona to meet Mataya! She enjoyed having new faces to stare at and tried to impress them by being on her best behavior. Here, Mataya and her uncle share some smiles!

And here she is showing off the cute purple elephant outfit that her uncle gave her!

Ahhhhh bathtime! Mataya really likes baths now! It's a far cry (pardon the pun) from how she felt about them in the beginning. Here she is showering daddy with appreciation for keeping her warm afterwards!
