27 WEEKS (almost 7 months)

Well, now I'm in my 3rd trimester! I had no idea, I was caught off guard... and all of a sudden, here I am, 2/3 of the way through! Where did all the time go? I kept telling myself that I had plenty of time and the 3rd trimester seemed so long away. Now I have this massive list of Baby To Do items. I'll get through it one check mark at a time I guess! The baby's room is in progress, I've made a birth plan, picked a pediatrician, scheduled the diaper service, and even pre-registered at the hospital. There's still so much to do though!

We had a doctors appointment this morning... we heard Baby G's heartbeat, nice and strong again! Ellerey says he's already so proud of the baby, having such a strong heartbeat that the doctors all comment on it! hehehe so cute! I also had to take a glucose test for determining gestational diabetes. I'm sure I'll pass with flying colors, but it sure wasn't much fun. I had to fast before, then chug this large bottle of "Glucola" (it says best when chilled, yeah right!) within 5 minutes, then wait an hour, no food or drink, before they drew my blood. So by the time we got to the doctor's, I was hungry, had heartburn, nausea, and had to go to the bathroom... not a good combination for a pregnant woman! Now we start going to visit the doctor every 2 weeks instead of every 4. Ellerey's getting really good at the whole route to the hospital thing! hehehe

What changes are occurring with your body?
By this point in your pregnancy you are feeling your baby move quite a lot. Some of his/her movements could be due to hiccups, while others feel like he/she is participating in an aerobic workout.

How big is your baby?
Your baby is now 14 inches long and weighs 2¼ pounds.*

What is happening with your baby?
Around week 11 your baby’s eye lids became fused, but around the 27th to 28th week babies can open and close their eyes. Your baby has also developed a regular wake and sleep cycle. Unfortunately, it may not be the same as yours. You may also begin to feel rhythmic movements in your uterus and wonder what is going on. It is likely that your baby is experiencing a case of the hiccups. This is completely normal and may occur quite frequently during this last part of your pregnancy as your baby’s lungs continue to mature. *
