19 WEEKS (almost 5 months)

Well, I'm sorry that there's not a picture this week. And there's not a good excuse, but for those in MI, you might just have to wait till you see us in person. Only a few more days!

We had our first birthing class on Saturday. We're taking it a little earlier because this one is on Saturday mornings and the next session is on Thursday nights in the valley making it very unlikely that we'd be able to make it. It lasts for 12 weeks; we'll be learning a whole lot! There's 4-5 other couples in the group and one of the women even has the same doctors we do. One interesting thing I learned is that babies study everything. There was a test that showed 12 day old babies very generic face graphics, one of them having the same proportions as that baby's mother's face. The baby's stared at that graphic the longest. It's crazy that they can study, map out, and recognize their mother's face so early. Let's hope my face is still that fascinating at 3:00 in the morning! hehehe

Here's a picture of a baby at 19 weeks:

How big is your baby?
Your baby has grown so much during these 19 weeks but is only 7 ½ inches long and weighs about 7 ounces. Don’t worry, he/she still has a lot of growing left to do.*

What is happening with your baby?
While your baby is continuing to grow, the development that is occurring is very specific. For example, the kidneys are making urine, and hair is beginning to sprout on his/her scalp. The parts of the brain that are responsible for the senses are specializing. If you are having a baby girl, she already has 6 million eggs formed in her ovaries.*

Dear Jen,
Your comment about your face being fascinating at 3:00 a.m. is hilarious! I laughed out loud. You are too cute! See you soon. xo
